Job Overview
SLS is hiring a sales engineer to interact with customers on cavity, frequency stabilized laser, and optical atomic clock sales. This position will interact very closely with the engineering and scientific staff in SLS. We do a great deal of custom work and offering novel and flexible engineered solutions is a large part of our business. The role requires technical skills in an area that allows a rapid and solid knowledge of laser frequency stabilization systems (with orientation and training provided) to allow you to interact with customers and develop solutions as required. Your background could well be metrology or atomic physics, though we welcome applicants from similar disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Discussing specifications and approaches to solutions with the customer, in collaboration with SLS engineers and physicists. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Customer relations and communications for post-sales support and on-going discussions.
- Additional responsibilities include marketing such as keeping the website content current, trade shows, interacting with customers and industry groups to determine trends and new product offerings.
- Travel to trade shows is required, as well as sales trips to centers in the US, Europe and China.
Experience
- Masters or higher degree in an experimental photonics-related field (Physics, Engineering, Applied Science). Experience selling laser-based systems a bonus.
Pay: $110,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
