What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vineyard Operations Technician position at ST?
Duties:
The following duties are typical for this position. Employees may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
Participate in all vineyard activities to include but not limited to the following:
- Planting
- Pruning
- Training/Tying young vines
- Suckering (removal of shoots positioned low on the vine)
- Vineyard maintenance and sanitation
- Trellis repair and install
- Maintenance of grounds
- Irrigation repair and install
- Winery cellar and bottling work as required
Mechanical operations of vineyard.
- Operation of vineyard mechanical equipment
- Fertilizer, chemical handling and application thereof
- General equipment maintenance as required.
- Assist with care and maintenance of grounds and buildings
OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED:
Requirements:
- Outdoor/agriculture work experience is a plus
- Dependable
- Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions
- Must have reliable transportation to work on a daily basis
- Must be able to work any day of the week.
- Must be able to work nights during Harvest Season.

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an outdoor setting in all types of weather conditions; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach,and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate Farm equipment, some requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination. Use of a computerkeyboard at times and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
