• Overview of Position Flagstaff Academy is seeking a full time Middle School Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The candidate is responsible for teaching students in grades six through eight. The position requires close collaboration with the Middle School Team to ensure that there is a meaningful scope and sequence for the middle school Core Knowledge curriculum.
• Qualifications sought We seek a talented educator who can inspire students and teachers while being inspired by our mission -- "where science and technology take flight." The successful candidate is expected to deliver dynamic educational experiences with high educational expectations and accountability.
• Specifically, we seek an educator with: experience designing instruction for mixed ability middle school art classes, the ability to assess student progress in art using an art portfolio system the organization to prepare students and their work for various art shows, displays and events, experience with integrating technology into art curriculum, instruction, and methods, good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, the ability to work collaboratively, excellent communication skills, a willingness to work closely with families, ability to form positive relationships with adolescents, effective instructional delivery techniques, proven ability to differentiate instruction and meet the needs of all students.
• The candidate's pedagogy should be student-centered and practiced in differentiated instruction with a particular focus on the teaching of language arts through investigation and inquiry.

Current Colorado teaching license

Ability to interpret and communicate student data

Strong systems orientation and commitment to follow-through

Experience working with middle school students

Three years teaching experience preferred

• About Flagstaff Academy Charter School Located in Longmont, Flagstaff Academy is a tuition-free public charter school serving grades kindergarten through eighth. Our school also offers a tuition-based full- and part-time preschool program for three and four year olds.
