What are the responsibilities and job description for the EEG Technician position at St. Vincent’s Health System?
- Department Neurology Service
- Schedule 600am to 300pm
- Work Location UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham

- Attach, connect, and operate electrodes from specified body areas to leads from electroencephalograph machine.
- Review patient's record and instruct patients prior to procedures. Monitor patient during procedures and report any abnormal findings.
- Identify and correct for artifacts. Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
- Maintain EEG equipment and supplies.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) preferred.
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
