Position Summary
St. Vincent Pallotti High School is seeking a Varsity Football Head Coach responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the Football program. This includes supervising student-athletes, managing assistant coaches, and participating in the recruitment of future student-athletes. The Head Coach will utilize effective teaching and coaching techniques to help student-athletes develop their athletic skills, mindset, and overall character while building upon the established success of the program.
The successful candidate will collaborate constructively with students, families, faculty, and staff; model and promote sportsmanship; and demonstrate a strong commitment to Pallotti’s mission and core values. The Head Coach must adhere to the policies of both the Athletics Department, St. Vincent Pallotti High School, and the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA).
Additionally, the Head Coach is expected to model and uphold the core principles of St. Vincent Pallotti Athletics: Faith in Action, Character Above All, Inclusive Excellence, Discipline, Service, Holistic Development, Lifelong Learning, and THE SVP WAY ensuring these values shape the culture and daily operations of the football program.

Responsibilities
The Varsity Head Football Coach is expected to:
· Establish and model a strong presence within the school community, reflecting the mission and values of St. Vincent Pallotti.
· Maintain inventory and upkeep of team uniforms, apparel, and equipment.
· Create and sustain a culture rooted in fundamental instruction, discipline, and respect for the game; ensure these expectations are upheld by all coaches and volunteers within the program.
· Promote and represent St. Vincent Pallotti Football within the broader community; collaborate professionally with the Director of Athletics and Admissions Office to engage prospective student-athletes.
· Promote and support the recruitment of student-athletes seeking to play football at the collegiate level.
· Partner with the Athletic Director and College Counseling Office to assist students interested in collegiate athletics.
· Understand, communicate, and enforce all rules and regulations of the MIAA and Pallotti Student Handbook; ensure compliance by all coaches and student-athletes.
· Attend all required meetings related to Pallotti athletics and the MIAA.
· Collaborate with the Counseling Office to monitor student eligibility.
· Coordinate with the athletic trainer to ensure all physicals, medical certifications, and parental consent forms remain current.
· Provide proper supervision of student-athletes at all times, including before and after practices, games, and team events, until all students have safely departed or are picked up.
· Properly report all injuries, incidents, and concerns occurring under program supervision.
· Report regularly to the Director of Athletics.
Job Requirements
Experience:
· Minimum of 2-3 years of head coaching experience and/or significant coordinator experience or collegiate playing experience.
· Knowledge of basic sports medicine preferred, but not required.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
· Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
· Ability to pass all background check and fingerprinting requirements, CPR/AED certification, and NFHS online training.
· A strong understanding of football fundamentals, rules, and athlete development principles.
· A professional and respectful attitude toward students, coaches, faculty, officials, and community members.
Additional Details
This is a part-time position with the possibility of fulltime, beginning January 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Candidates residing in the DMV region are strongly encouraged to apply. (Relocation assistance is not available.)
