SUMMARY

The Director of Residential Treatment is responsible for the day-to-day management, oversight, and performance of St. Vincent Family Services' Residential Treatment Program. The Director provides operational leadership to ensure safe, high-quality, trauma-informed care for youth served within the residential continuum. The Director is responsible for staff supervision, program operations, regulatory compliance, census management, quality outcomes, and the implementation of evidence-based practices. The Director reports to the VP of Residential and Care Coordination to achieve strategic, clinical, operational, and financial objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Direct and oversee the daily operations of the Residential Treatment Program.

Ensure a safe, therapeutic, and trauma-informed environment for youth, families, and staff.

Maintain compliance with licensing, accreditation, regulatory, and agency requirements.

Monitor census, admissions, discharges, staffing patterns, and service capacity.

Coordinate the intake process and implement admissions per the VP's direction.

Review referrals and make recommendations to the VP.

Represent the program at internal operational meetings as assigned and support VP-led external partnerships.

Execute all residential operations in alignment with the VP's direction.

Alongside the VP of Residential and Care Coordination, be available on call to staff as needed.

Monitor the use of the third-shift bed tracker to ensure timely review during sleeping hours.

Supervise Residential Team Managers, Case Managers, and assigned staff.

Lead shift huddles to ensure timely communication in a dynamic environment.

Make discharge recommendations to the VP of Residential to ensure aftercare plans and continuity of care goals are met.

Coordinate with nursing, clinical, psychiatric, educational, and support services to ensure integrated care delivery.

Ensure residential on-call schedules are maintained and crisis situations are appropriately managed.

Recruit, hire, train, coach, evaluate, and develop program staff.

Ensure staff maintain required training, certifications, and licensure requirements.

Monitor documentation quality and timeliness within the electronic health record.

Lead audit, accreditation, survey, and licensing preparedness activities.

Investigate incidents, grievances, safety concerns, and risk management matters.

Assist with budget development and monitor program expenditures and staffing resources.

Approve schedules, timesheets, mileage reports, purchasing requests, and operational expenditures.

Participate in quality improvement and performance management initiatives.

Collaborate with internal departments and community partners to support continuity of care.

Promote employee wellness, engagement, retention, accountability, and professional growth.

Perform all other duties as assigned by the VP of Residential and Care Coordination.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES 

Provides direct supervision of Residential Team Managers, Residential Supervisors, assigned support staff, and administrative personnel. 

Responsible for employee selection, performance management, coaching, scheduling, corrective action, and professional development.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required or preferred. 

Minimum of five years of leadership experience in residential treatment, behavioral health, child welfare, juvenile justice, or related child-serving systems, including at least three years of supervisory experience in a 24-hour treatment environment. 

Valid Ohio driver's license and proof of insurance are required.
