Nurse Clinic Administrator – Job Description
Department: Medical Clinic
Reports To: Clinical Administrative Director (clinical partnership with Chief Medical Officer)
Position Overview
The Nurse Clinic Administrator provides integrated clinical and administrative leadership for an outpatient medical clinic. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while overseeing daily clinic operations, staffing, workflow optimization, and regulatory compliance. The position serves as a key liaison among providers, clinical staff, administrative teams, volunteers, and organizational leadership in support of a high-need, underserved patient population.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Patient Care Oversight
- Provide direct clinical leadership and serve as an escalation resource for clinical concerns
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality nursing and medical assistant–supported care
- Support patient triage, education, care coordination, referrals, and follow-up
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to align care standards and workflows
Clinic Operations & Administrative Management
- Oversee daily clinic operations, patient flow, staffing levels, and clinic throughput
- Manage provider, staff, and volunteer scheduling
- Supervise front desk, scheduling, eligibility, and clinical support staff
- Monitor operational metrics and support continuous process improvement
Minimum Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- 3 years of outpatient nursing experience
- 3 years of clinical operations or clinic management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration
- Experience leading quality improvement initiatives
- Strong leadership and cross-functional communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish
