Security Officer I - Swing Shift

Summary

The Security Officer I shall perform access control functions and patrols throughout all Father Joe Villages facilities. Qualified personnel will possess characteristics and traits, such as self-control, patience, self-discipline, maturity, attention to detail, and a neat and professional appearance. The individual must be of unquestionable integrity, display a mature, responsible attitude and exercise good judgment. He/she shall actively support and uphold the agency's stated mission, vision and values.

Essential Functions

• Patrols assigned areas and respond to calls for assistance, conduct crowed control during special events and as necessary
• Respond to emergency situations (e.g. fire, bomb threat, or natural disaster) to clear the facility if deemed necessary
• Ensure all individuals entering the facilities conform to all stated rules and regulations.
• Report incidents, safety hazards and/or violations to supervisor as soon as practical utilizing a two-way radio or other communication method such as email or phone
• Record all incidents occurring during the shift and complete incident reports in a timely manner
• Completion of assigned training and policy review and acknowledgment
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• CA Guard Card certification
• Basic user of MS office 
• Be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience; possesses a valid California driver's license; and has no Class 1 or more than two Class 2 violations within the past 36 months
• Candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year security experience  
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
• Problem-solving skills with an analytical thought process
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment 
•  Able to work with flexible schedule due to department needs

The Pay Rate for this role is based on several factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The initial offer usually falls between the minimum and midpoint of the applicable salary range. Pay Band N2: $21.30 – $26.54 (Midpoint: $23.31)
