What are the responsibilities and job description for the Donation Attendant position at St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County?
1. PRIMARY PURPOSE -
This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service, greeting and assisting donors.
2. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Interacts with donors/customers in a prompt, friendly and courteous manner.
- Safely use hand trucks, dollies and furniture moving equipment to unload donated materials.
- Supply donors with donation receipt.
- Sort, stack and organize donations according to established procedures.
- Ensure the stewardship of all donated items, ensuring that donations remain property of SVdP and ensure donations are not used in a personal manger.
- Separate donated items into the appropriate containers.
- Maintain the donations center and parking lot in accordance with safety standards and cleanliness.
- Works in a safe manner, adhering to proper handling of donated items. Communicates any safety hazard or concerns immediately to management.
3. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
- Maintain adherence to Company policies, safety/ergonomic standards and good housekeeping practices.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE -
- Previous customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for 8 hours.
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Self-motivated, organized and eager to work as part of team.
- Pallet Jack experience is helpful, but not required.
