The position aligns with store hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReceive, unload, sort, and inspect donated items (clothing, household goods, etc.) for quality, safety, and resale suitability.Clean items as needed and prepare for pricing and display per organizational guidelines.Accurately tag, price, and label merchandise, using basic technology/search tools for item valuation when directed.Stock sales floor attractively, rotate inventory, and maintain organization by category/size.Provide customer service: greet shoppers/donors, answer questions, escalate issues to supervisors.Operate POS/cash register as assigned, processing transactions accurately.Maintain clean, safe store and back-room areas (sweeping, trash removal, organizing).Follow loss prevention, safety, and confidentiality policies.Assist volunteers with basic tasks as directed.Support special events or promotions as needed.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma/GED or equivalent.Full-time availability during store hours (Mon-Sat, 10am-6pm).Basic math/cash-handling skills; comfort with technology/search engines after training.Ability to follow instructions in English.Preferred QualificationsRetail, thrift, or customer service experience.Organized self-starter with nonprofit/community service background.Bilingual skills a plus.Competencies and SkillsCustomer service orientation, organization, dependability, attention to detail, adaptability, teamwork, basic tech comfort, mission alignment.Tools and Technology UsedPOS systems, pricing guns, barcode scanners, web browsers/search engines, carts/dollies, cleaning equipment.Physical Requirements (ADA-Aligned)Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.Stand for extended periods; frequently bend, reach, kneel, walk.Lift/carry up to 25-35 lbs regularly (heavier with assistance).Visually inspect items; operate equipment; communicate in-person.Work EnvironmentRetail thrift store/back-room with dust, varying temperatures, moderate noise.Mon-Sat schedule; occasional events.Duties may evolve with business needs.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to do this job.
