THRIFT STORE DONATION & fURNITURE aTTENANT - MILFORD
St. Vincent de Paul – Cincinnati (SVDP) has served residents of Greater Cincinnati for over 150 years with basic needs such as food, medicine, and homelessness prevention through its outreach center in the West End and 53 parish-based volunteer Conferences. SVDP provides holistic direct assistance and systemic change services while treating neighbors in need with dignity and compassion.
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Donation & Furniture Attendants. This person will greet and assist donors and customers promptly and respectfully. They will help customers with furniture purchases as well as load and unload store trucks. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with a diverse customer base, including both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking customers. Fluency in both languages is a plus but not required.
Scope of Position: Donation Attendants are the first point of contact for donors at SVDP stores. Attendants are mainly responsible for assisting donors, accepting donations, and maintaining the donation area.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist donors and customers in a prompt and courteous manner
- Assist donors with unloading donations
- Offer a donation receipt to all donors, offer assistance if necessary
- Assist customers with furniture purchases to their vehicle, employees are prohibited from loading or tying down purchases
- Loading and unloading store trucks
- Retrieve shopping carts and maintain parking lots
- Light and general housekeeping
- Any other reasonable requests directed by management
All positions require:
- Flexibility to perform and complete any duties assigned by management within reason
- Availability for flexible work hours
- Continuously walking, standing, bending, and lifting items. Could involve work in hot or cold conditions, inside or outside during inclement weather
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continuously, up to 100 pounds occasionally
- General housekeeping. Cleaning work areas, retail floors and restrooms; sanitizing, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal
