Key Responsibilities
- Provide translation services, both within the Agency/Program and to outside the Agency partners, if applicable.
- Case note all appropriate contacts and activities as directed.
- Ensure all documentation is safeguarded and turned in as directed.
- Provide transportation, as deemed necessary, from the airport (arrival), to DHHS, Social Security, Secretary of State, employers, health appointments and other supportive services, etc.
- Maintain on-going communication with Case Managers and other Program staff to ensure client needs and requests are addressed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and behavior as a representative of the Agency and Program.
- Attend and actively participate in Agency and Program meetings, conferences, in-services and other meetings deemed appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned
- Education: High School education. Preferred is directly related experience.
- Experience:
- Required Licenses, Certifications, and Training
- A valid Michigan Driver License, access to reliable transportation and maintain appropriate insurance.
- Fluency in a second language (French, Swahili, Kinyarwanda) that is representative of a Refugee population currently being served by the Program. (Required)
- Prefer ability to work beyond the parameters of posted Agency/Program hours of operation as necessary to complete Job Responsibilities.

- Attendance at occasional meetings or events outside regular business hours is required
- The role involves working with sensitive or potentially traumatic information and direct interaction with individuals or families in crisis
- Physical requirements include frequent use of hands for handling objects, tools, or controls; talking, bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, kneeling, reaching, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds
- Vision requirements include close-up work, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- The work environment may involve varying degrees of physical discomfort and occasional loud noise
- Occasional driving, potentially with Clients, during the workday may be needed for operational purposes
