Nurse Practitioner Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of patient care, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and treat various medical conditions. This role requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services, with an emphasis on patient education and support. New grads are welcome.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluations.
- Administer medications, injections, and IV infusions as required.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations, including laboratory tests and imaging studies.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health management, disease prevention, and treatment options.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives as needed.
- Provide acute care management in various settings including urgent care, emergency medicine, and primary care.
Skills
Candidates should possess a diverse skill set that includes but is not limited to:
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR (Experity)
- Experience in various specialties including gastroenterology, pediatrics, geriatrics, critical care, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding, and workers' compensation law.
- Clinical skills such as suturing, IV insertion, phlebotomy.
- Familiarity with pain management techniques including acute pain management and behavioral health approaches.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and health coaching.
