Position Summary:
The Trash Technician is responsible for making sure the campus grounds are free of debris and trash. In addition, the position is to maintain all the University's trash, recycling bins, designated compactor areas etc.
Essential Functions:
Collects and transports general waste, recycling, and soiled linens in accordance with department guidelines. Collects and transports recyclable materials. Operates power equipment in the completion of assignments, which include the trash compactor and forklift. May be called upon to perform conventional housekeeping-related duties in other areas as needed. Responsible for the arrangement and setup of meeting rooms, including the transport and stocking of supplies. Responds to customer Service requests. Must collaborate with others, organize well, accomplish tasks, solve problems, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED preferred. Ability to read, write, speak English, including comprehension of verbal and written instructions, correspondence and memos is highly preferred. Must be able to prioritize job duties and be able to work independently and/or in a team environment. Prior experience in floor care maintenance is highly preferred.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Required to stand, push, pull, reach, lift, bend, and walk for extended periods of time. Required to lift 50-75 pounds occasionally, and 25 pounds regularly. Must be able to push/pull carts weighing 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This position is expected to work a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. This position will be working outdoors for most of the day.
