Job Overview
St. Therese Academy, a Catholic school serving students with exceptionalities, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary English Language Arts Teacher to join our faculty. We are looking for an educator who believes in the potential of every learner, values relationship-centered teaching, and desires to make a meaningful impact in a mission-driven school community.
This position includes teaching middle and/or high school English Language Arts in a supportive environment with small class sizes and collaborative colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging ELA instruction aligned to curriculum standards
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs
- Foster growth in reading, writing, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills
- Create a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records and communication
- Collaborate with faculty, support staff, and families to support student success
- Implement accommodations and instructional supports for students with exceptionalities
- Participate in school life and support the mission of Catholic education
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Secondary Education, or related field required
- Valid teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) preferred
- Secondary teaching experience preferred
- Experience working with students with learning differences or special needs preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to collaboration, flexibility, and mission-driven education
