Job Description And Position Requirements
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
WORK SHIFT: M-F with clinic and hospital hours.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the treatment of patients with circulatory disease that originate away from the heart such as the arteries, veins, or lymphatic vessels. Treatment to include surgical procedures such as vascular bypass or angioplasty. Diagnosing and treating diseases affecting the peripheral arteries and circulatory disorders Coordinates care with referring physicians and collaborates with other providers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
Physical Effort required:
Constant (67%-100%) - handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%-66%)- reaching
Occasionally (1%-33%)- lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.), balancing, stooping, crouching

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be licensed by the Louisiana State board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine.
- Current BLS, and ALS certifications through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off (ALS required by specialty only).
- Must be a member of the St. Tammany Health System Medical Staff.
- Board Certification in General Surgery
- Fellowship training and Board Certification in Vascular Surgery is required.
