    Job Responsibilities

    • Teach 2 sections of World Literature to sophomore students.
    • Teach 2 sections of British Literature to senior students.
    • Teach AP English Literature and Composition
    • Foster critical thinking, analytical reading, effective writing, and thoughtful discussion.
    • Create engaging lessons that encourage students to connect literature to historical, cultural, and contemporary issues.
    • Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and promote student growth.
    • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative measures.
    • Maintain timely communication with students, families, and school personnel.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and interdisciplinary initiatives.
    • Participate fully in the life of the school community, including faculty meetings, professional development, retreats, and school events.

  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in English, English Education, Literature, or a related field.
    • Experience teaching high school English preferred.
    • Experience teaching British Literature and/or AP English Literature and Composition is a plus.
    • Strong background in literary analysis, writing instruction, and discussion-based learning.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Commitment to educating young women in a college preparatory environment.
    • New York State Teaching Certification preferred


    Additional Opportunities

    Stipended opportunities may be available for candidates interested in:

    • Moderating the Saint Saviour Literary Magazine.
    • Teaching a weekly after-school Creative Writing Workshop.
