Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Apprentice Nurse Program offers students the opportunity to practice their clinical skills and to acclimate to the role of the licensed nurse.
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nurse Apprentice (NAP) assists the nursing staff in providing routine nursing care to patients within the scope of the Nevada Board of Nursing (NAC632.252/632.253) of the Nurse Practice Act. They are a member of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Performs basic nursing skills as outlined on the competency checklist.
- Assists with physical examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments within the scope of their skills.
- Reports any abnormal findings and/or observations to supervising RN.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- A student currently enrolled in a program of professional nursing
- Completion of a minimum of one clinical semester credits in Nursing Fundamental RN Course
CT CPRBLS = CT American Heart Association Basic Life Support - Nat'l
- Student is continuously progressing toward obtaining an ADN or BSN degree in nursing.
- Completed skills checklist from respective nursing school that indicates successful documentation of nursing skills as outlined by the Nevada State Board of Nursing Apprentice Scope of Practice
Salary : $16 - $21
