Job Summary
St. Rocco School is seeking dedicated and faith-filled Substitute Teachers to support our PreK–8 classrooms. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, nurturing, and academically engaging environment rooted in our Catholic mission. Substitute Teachers play an essential role in maintaining continuity of learning when faculty are absent and are expected to uphold the values and expectations of our school community.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction, supervision, and classroom management following the teacher’s lesson plans.
- Maintain a positive, respectful, and faith-filled learning environment.
- Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, and administration.
- Take attendance, monitor student behavior, and ensure student safety at all times.
- Integrate and model Catholic values throughout the school day.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by administration, such as recess, lunch, or dismissal coverage.
- Leave a brief summary of the day’s activities for the returning teacher.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior experience working with children is strongly preferred.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Ability to follow lesson plans and manage a classroom effectively.
- Good communication, flexibility, and organizational skills.
- Completion of all Diocesan requirements, including background checks and Safe Environment Training.
