Required Education
- Master’s degree in education, literacy, reading or a related field
- Valid teaching certification
Instructional Support & Coaching
- Provide job-embedded professional development, coaching cycles, and real-time feedback to teachers.
- Model effective, research-based literacy instruction and classroom management strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and refine differentiated literacy lessons that meet the diverse needs of students.
- Lead and facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) focused on literacy goals, best practices, and student achievement.
- Support teachers in analyzing assessment data to inform instruction and identify trends in student learning.
- Monitor and assess student performance using standardized tools (e.g., MAP, ERB) and formative/summative assessments.
- Implement progress monitoring systems that inform targeted intervention strategies.
- Work with leadership to make instructional adjustments based on student data and campus needs.
- Design and support tiered interventions for students performing below grade level, ensuring measurable growth.
- Collaborate with teachers to increase student engagement and literacy confidence across grade levels.
- Reduce the number of students requiring reading interventions through proactive instructional support.
- Work is primarily indoor but requires the incumbent to be in an out-door environment when traveling between campus buildings or off campus.
- Standard office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Attendance at evening and weekend events is required.
- Off-campus, state and regional travel may occur from time to time.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, stoop and reach.
- Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other business machines.
- Near vision sufficient to read written communication and computer display screens
- Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of successful classroom teaching experience in literacy instruction
- Demonstrated expertise in reading and writing pedagogy, assessment, and differentiation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, or leading professional development preferred
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
- Excellent organizational and management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
