What are the responsibilities and job description for the Switchboard Operator - Switchboard - Scheduling position at St Peters Hospital?
Answers the telephone calls for the entire organization, transfer calls to appropriate parties, provides overhead paging/messaging, responds appropriately to alarms (Emergency Department location). Serves as an information resource to organization’s personnel, physicians, and customers. Functions as a liaison for the department to ensure open and effective communication between the organization and its customers, with an emphasis on excellent customer service. Provides after hours answering service (may work night shift).
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE : Must have exceptional customer service skills and possess knowledge of switchboard operations. Significant computer experience is desirable. Must possess interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively and efficiently in a courteous and considerate manner to maintain contact with hospital and clinic personnel. Impeccable personal honesty, integrity and confidentiality are essential.
EDUCATION : High school education or GED preferred.
