Job Overview
We are seeking a kitchen assistant to support our school's daily food service operations under the supervision of our school chef, Chef Douglas Pollander. The ideal candidate is reliable, has experience working in food service, enjoys working in a school environment, and is comfortable interacting with children. This role serves approximately 200 students from K1 through 8th grade each day.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain the faculty coffee station each morning (Around 7:15am)
- Assist with kitchen prep and cleanup (7:30-1pm)
- Serve food to students during meal times
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and serving areas
- Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols, as directed by the the Chef
- Assist the chef with other responsibilities as needed and assigned
Qualifications
- Reliable and punctual
- Experience working in a kitchen environment or equivalent training
- Comfortable working around children ages 4-14
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform medium-weight (50lbs) physical tasks
- Food handler's certification preferred but not required
- A desire to work at a Catholic school
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
