Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a High School English Teacher based in Mansfield, Ohio. The High School English Teacher will plan, develop, and deliver engaging and effective English language lessons that align with academic standards and foster critical thinking. Key responsibilities include creating lesson plans, grading assignments, managing classroom behavior, and offering individualized support to students. The teacher will collaborate with colleagues, attend professional development sessions, and contribute to extracurricular activities as part of the school community. The role also entails open communication with students' families and guardians to support student success.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in English Literature, Language Arts, and Composition
- Skills in lesson planning, curriculum development, and adapting instructional methods for diverse learning styles
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Experience in evaluating student work, providing constructive feedback, and tracking academic growth
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students in a supportive and nurturing educational environment
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required); teaching certification for grades 9-12 preferred
- Experience in secondary education teaching is a plus
