Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

What You Will Do
The supervisor of crisis services is responsible for the planning, priority setting, coordination, and evaluation of crisis services across the SPHP acute care emergency rooms, ensuring high reliability services.
Responsibilities
- Represents SPHP Psychiatric Services in the community through participation in professional and community activities.
- Assumes a leadership role in committees, program groups and improvement teams.
- Uses evidence based and best practices for improvement activities.
- Assures that all management staff receives training regarding the agency’s philosophy, applicable federal, state and county laws and regulations and quality management principles.
- Ensures compliance with New York State Office of Mental Health regulations, Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations standards and other applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations. Such requirements may pertain to Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Infection Control, Mandated Inservices, Compliance Programs, HIPAA, etc.
- Develops a structure and process to meet patient care needs
- Coordinates with QI Dept. to ensure adequate and appropriate training both orientation and continuing education for all staff.
- Empowers staff to develop their leadership potential and practices delegation of duties while fostering accountability.
- Develops and monitors productivity metrics to ensure optimal performance
- Coordinates with management team to formulate the annual operating and capital budgets.
- Develops plans for implementation of programs of care and/or additional services.
- Identifies unmet programmatic needs of populations and develops business plans for new programs/services or expansion of existing ones.
- Participates with management staff and clinical executive in policy development and strategic planning.
- Coordinates with management staff and executive director to establishes annual goals for behavioral health services.
- Facilitate/Participate in unit-based/department run tiered huddle process, including ER huddles
- Review daily MIDAS events
- NICS reporting for all ED’s.
- Complete monthly Quality Assurance auditing processes (environmental, restraints, ligature alarms, documentation, etc.) and follow up on any safety related Quality action plans for the program.
- Responsible for participating in recruitment, onboarding, orientation of new staff
- Assist with initial and annual performance evaluations as well as performance goal setting
- Assist staff with admissions/discharges/meds/evaluations when unit is acute
- Accountable for mandatory education completion (e.g CPR, SCIP, etc.) and ensuring staff attendance at skills labs offered through Nursing Education
- Team building, staff recognition
- Monthly staff meetings or standardized mode of communication for staff
- Maintain open communication/standard meeting cadence with community based providers including, but not limited to system of care, OMH, Unity House, ACT, LGU, etc.
- Enter Crisis stats into flowsheet
- Participate in routine departmental leadership meetings
- Participate in SPHP Leadership trainings
- Master's degree in Social Work is required.
- NYS LMSW required. NYS LCSW preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years recent experience providing clinical, administrative, and fiscal supervision in a behavioral health setting, specifically substance abuse, and preferably with multi-site supervisory responsibilities and mental health treatment experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of JCAHO (CSM) standards and OMH/OASIS regulatory requirements related to all levels of care in behavioral health services.
