Full Time Community Liaison - Prevention Education and Community Engagement Program
Location: Based out of Samaritan Hospital with some travel required
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (some evenings are required)
The Community Liaison (Prevention Education) is responsible for coordinating and delivering prevention education programs across schools (elementary, middle, high schools), colleges, and community organizations throughout the Capital Region. This role involves the development of educational curricula, the delivery of training sessions, and collaboration with allied professionals to support crime prevention education initiatives. The Community Liaison will work directly with schools, colleges, and community organizations to reach over 10,000 individuals annually, while maintaining strong partnerships and supporting the agency’s mission to educate and prevent crime victimization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the community by promoting crime prevention education and supporting the well-being of individuals in the Capital Region.
Education Requirements
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location

Education Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of one year of experience working with crime victims.
- At least one year of public speaking or experience in delivering prevention education.
- Knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of crime victimization is required.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various locations for training, meetings, and outreach programs is required.
- Sexual Assault Counselor certification by the New York State Department of Health is required to effectively respond to disclosures during or after prevention education programming. (If not currently certified, the agency will provide certification at no cost.)
- Coordinate and Provide Prevention Education o Collaborate with local schools, colleges, and community agencies to ensure the delivery of prevention education services, reaching over 10,000 community members annually.
- Deliver direct prevention education and training to students and community members.
- Work with schools and organizations to ensure comprehensive coverage of prevention topics relevant to their populations.
- Track and monitor program success and deliverables, assisting with grant report preparation and ensuring that project goals are met.
- Collaborate with External Partners
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with schools, colleges, and community partners to enhance the delivery of prevention education programs.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration to ensure effective coordination of services.
- Ongoing Professional Development
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance knowledge and skills, including the adoption of new curricula and techniques.
- Engage in relevant community partnerships, coalitions, and conferences to stay current in the field of crime victim prevention and education.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to the team’s collective goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- This position is grant funded and employment is contingent on continuation of grant funding.
