Overview:
We are seeking a passionate Science/Social Studies Teacher to join our team and inspire students in the field of Social Studies and Sciences. As a Social Studies/Science Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping young minds and fostering a love for experimentation, research and learning other scientific skills, as well as history, geography, civics, and other social studies subjects.
Duties:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum standards
- Utilize learning technology to enhance classroom instruction and student engagement
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students
- Conduct research laboratory activities to supplement classroom learning
- Foster critical thinking skills through interactive teaching methods
- Organize and oversee laboratory experiments, projects, or field trips related to social studies topics
- Offer tutoring and support to students who require additional assistance
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Dissect complex historical events and concepts for student comprehension
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or relevant field; Master's degree preferred
- State teaching certification in Social Studies/Science or related discipline
- Proven experience in higher education teaching or related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in lesson planning and curriculum development
- Ability to mentor and guide students academically and personally
- Familiarity with academic advising practices
- Experience with learning technology integration in the classroom
