Position Summary:
The Theology Teacher & Campus Minister will be responsible for delivering engaging, standards-based instruction in theology, with a focus on fostering spiritual growth, moral development, and a deep understanding of the Catholic faith. The ideal candidate will integrate Catholic teachings throughout the curriculum and lead campus ministry efforts that invite students into prayer, service, and community. This individual will help students make meaningful connections between their faith, daily lives, and the world around them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach the required curriculum as outlined by the Bishop’s Framework.
- Teach all sections of theology to 9-12 grades.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet state standards and reflect Catholic teachings.
- Foster a classroom environment that supports student engagement, respect, and academic growth.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and student development.
- Participate in school events, professional development, and faith-based activities as part of the school community.
- Maintain accurate records for grading, attendance, and communication with parents/guardians.
- Plan and prepare retreats for each grade level.
- Prepare and train students to fully participate in the liturgies.
- Serve as the Campus Minister and as the liaison to the parish for liturgical celebrations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification in TX or eligibility for certification.
- Experience teaching at the high school level preferred.
- Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred; must support the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Career and Technical education environments.
- Ability to incorporate technology and project-based learning into instruction.
- Enthusiasm for working with diverse student populations.
Work Schedule:
- Full-Time position following the academic calendar (may include occasional evening or weekend hours).
