Position Title: Middle School Mathematics Teacher (Grades 6–8)
Position Summary:
St. Peter School in Upper Sandusky is seeking a dedicated and faith-filled Middle School Mathematics Teacher to instruct students in grades 6–8. This position may also include teaching honors math and/or Algebra 1 for high school credit. The ideal candidate will be committed to academic excellence, student growth, and the mission of Catholic education. This position requires a teacher who can create a positive and structured learning environment while integrating Catholic values into daily instruction and classroom life.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Teach grades 6–8 mathematics using effective, standards-based instructional practices.
· May teach honors math and/or Algebra 1 for high school credit.
· May teach religion if the teacher is Catholic and able to support instruction in the Catholic faith.
· If the teacher is not Catholic, they may also be assigned a 5th grade math course.
· Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum expectations and student needs.
· Assess student learning regularly and use data to guide instruction and support growth.
· Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
· Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, orderly, and supportive of student learning.
· Communicate regularly and professionally with students, parents, colleagues, and administration.
· Collaborate with faculty and staff to support the academic, spiritual, and social development of students.
· Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school liturgies, and school events as assigned.
· Uphold the mission, values, and policies of the Catholic school community.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, religious education, or a related field.
· Valid Ohio teaching license or ability to obtain appropriate licensure.
· Experience teaching middle school students preferred.
· Strong knowledge of middle school math instruction and classroom management.
· Ability and willingness to teach honors math and/or Algebra 1 for high school credit.
· Ability to teach religion if Catholic and supportive of the Catholic mission.
· If not Catholic, willingness to teach an additional 5th grade math course.
· Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
· Commitment to Catholic education and to supporting the mission of the school.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Prior experience in a Catholic school setting.
· Experience teaching advanced math courses such as honors math or Algebra 1.
· Familiarity with differentiated instruction, intervention, and enrichment strategies.
· Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
· A demonstrated commitment to faith-based education and student formation.
