Description
St. Peter Catholic Church, in the Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City, MO, is seeking an Administrative Assistant. The ideal candidate will provide a cordial atmosphere for parish staff, school parents, and parishioners; bring applicable knowledge and skills; and foster a positive team morale. This position is part-time and reports to the pastor.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with pastor's schedule management
- Process bulk mailings both sending and receiving
- Cover front office, which includes answering phones, greeting visitors, making copies and other basic office duties
- Create documents for handouts, Mass aids, and other parish needs
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Intermediate skills using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva or similar software platforms is preferred
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with confidence
- Handle records and sensitive issues with confidentiality, empathy, and compassion
Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Three of experience in a professional setting
- Familiarity with the Catholic understanding of ministry
