You’ll handle a variety of tasks, from electrical and plumbing repairs to HVAC maintenance and general building upkeep. What You Will Do:
- Diagnose and repair minor electrical issues, including installing receptacles, switches, light fixtures, and fractional horsepower motors. Perform general lighting maintenance such as changing lamps and ballasts.
- Maintain and repair wheelchairs, Geri chairs, and both electric and mechanical hospital beds.
- Repair and install pipes, faucets, toilets, sinks, and pumps. Address leaks, clogs, and drainage problems efficiently.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Replace filters.
- Inspect and repair mechanical systems, such as fan coil units, low-voltage valve actuators, water pumps, and motors.
- Perform drywall repair, door and window maintenance and inspections, flooring fixes, and general carpentry work as needed.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on facility equipment, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and safety equipment.
- Remove trash as part of routine maintenance duties.
- Clean work areas after completing jobs, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and in good condition.
- Ensure OSHA compliance and adherence to all safety protocols and healthcare safety regulations.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and staff.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding facility operations and resident information.
NON‑ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain professional appearance at all times.
- Participate in scheduled department meetings.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a healthcare, hospital, or senior living environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations.
- General knowledge of various types of equipment used in facilities maintenance.
- Basic computer skills for logging maintenance work orders and email communication.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while following written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
All tools and testing equipment required to perform duties shall be provided by the employer. It shall be the employee’s responsibility to maintain all tools in good working order. St. Paul’s commercial vehicles.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to adapt to all types of working conditions. May work in a well-lighted, ventilated, air-conditioned, and heated building or may be exposed to extreme outdoor weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold. Heavy lifting may be required at times. Must adhere to St. Paul’s personnel policies and practices.
