The Advanced Studies Program at St. Paul’s School announces a search for an Assistant Director for an intensive five-week academic program from mid-June through the end of July of 2026. Preference will be given to returning candidates. Classes and activities occur six days a week in this fully residential program. Program dates of employment for this position are June 11 - July 28, 2026.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position includes:
A bachelor’s degree. The successful candidate will have prior teaching or administrative experience at the secondary school or collegiate levels. Prior experience in a residential life program and in the Advanced Studies Program are a plus. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills and will be able to work collaboratively as part of an administrative team. The Advanced Studies Program seeks innovative and energetic educators who are eager to participate in the full academic and co-curricular life of this dynamic residential community. A successful candidate will engage a diverse student body and demonstrate an interest in strengthening the ASP’s inclusive community.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This position includes:
- Building a healthy community in which all students are safe, included, and nurtured;
- Actively enforcing all Program policies, rules and expectations;
- Attending morning Chapel, weekly intern meetings, and other meetings as assigned;
- Preparing Chapel announcements and publishing them to the ASP community;
- Assuring student attendance at classes and recreational activities and monitor dorm check-in each evening;
- Mentoring a group of college-aged teaching interns through individual goal-setting meetings, class visits, and feedback; writing evaluations for that group of interns before departing at the end of the program;
- Overseeing all daily aspects of the program, which may include driving SPS school vehicles for field trips or other purposes;
- Planning and executing important ASP events such as Registration, College Day, Family Day, Alumni Day, and Graduation;
- Organizing student activities such as the Talent Show, coffee houses, Harry Potter Day, and Saturday evening dances;
- Living on campus and serving as an “administrator on call” through the duration of the program;
- Serving as a point of contact for ASP house supervisors, faculty, interns, and parents;
- Serving as a point of contact for ASP house supervisors, faculty, interns, nurses, and parents, including for student illnesses, absences, and off-campus permissions;
- Serving as the liaison to the Health Center for one week. This may involve caring for a student in the morning before the nurse arrives or evening/overnight in the Health Center, after the nurse’s shift ends.
