What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Wellness Coordinator / Counselor (part-time) position at St. Paul's Lutheran School?
St. Paul's Lutheran School is seeking a part-time passionate and dedicated wellness coordinator / school counselor for grades K through 8 for the 2026-27 school year. We are a parochial school with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. All teaching positions are ministerial positions that are required to perform important religious functions. These functions include but are not limited to incorporating the Christian faith into all aspects of the Employee’s job duties. The employee may be called upon to lead and/or otherwise participate in Christian devotions, prayer, and/or Chapel services at various times throughout the school year. Candidates are not required to be Lutheran, but are expected to be a member and regular worshipper at a Christian church.
Job Summary:
A part-time wellness coordinator / counselor will be responsible for providing short-term counseling to students and referrals for long-term support, collecting and reviewing any 504 plans or individual education plans for students who have been admitted to St. Paul’s and creating St. Paul’s Service Plans for accommodations, and working in conjunction with the resource staff to ensure all approved student accommodations are being provided.
Qualifications:
- Is a member in good standing of a Christian church.
- Has a BA or BS or above from an accredited institution.
- Has the ability to effectively communicate with students and differentiate instruction.
- Has a humble, teachable spirit and willingness to respect and abide by administrative authority.
- Has a heart and calling to educational ministry and love for serving the children placed under our care.
- Has training and/or certifications in remedial education, wellness coordination, andsocial-emotional learning.
Job Type: Part-time (24 hours per week; 10 month position)
Pay: Starting from $25.00 per hour - Based upon education and experience
