What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Administrative Assistant position at St. Paul Lutheran Church?
Position Summary:
The School Administrative Assistant shall assist with all required administrative and clerical support to the school and Principal in all aspects of its operations. This requires professional expertise and a general knowledge of the affairs of the congregation and student body.
Position Responsibilities:
- Performs duties in cooperation with the other school administrative assistant
- Serves as Administrative Assistant to the Principal
- Answers telephone; takes and relays messages
- Is responsible for reports as requested
- Maintains school family files in database
- Orders supplies
- Makes arrangements for field trips, meetings, and conferences
- Works with the public from a Christian perspective; provides information involving an understanding of policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
- Types correspondences, memos, and reports from written or verbal instructions
- Administers first-aid and medication to students
- Works with volunteers, including the direction of their activities and scheduling as directed by the Principal
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others
- Must exercise strict discretion and confidentiality and exhibit high integrity
- Adhere to all guidelines and policies as outlined in the St. Paul Lutheran Employee Handbook and School Procedure Manual
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Attends to student needs as appropriate
Qualifications
- Demonstrates competency in clerical and administrative tasks including the operation of a personal computer with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database and internet
- A team player with a positive attitude is vital
- Well organized, detail-oriented and ability to handle multiple task in a fast-paced environmen
- Must be physically capable of walking up and down stairs and lift a minimum of 10 pounds
Compensation, Education, and Schedule:
- High school diploma required;
- Active participant in worship and witness and is supportive of the mission and philosophy of St. Paul Lutheran Church and School
- A desire and ability to engage in continuing education and skills upgrading
Compensation, Education, and Schedule (cont):
- Required to complete a basic first aid and CPR course
- Full-time Non-Exempt
- Core work hours are generally performed during the week and will be - Monday – Friday 7:45 am – 4:00 pm only when school is in session. Summer hours are determined by SPLS Principal.
- Other hours may be occasionally assigned as necessary for office coverage, welcome desk and/or special events
- The work involved in the position occurs primarily inside the Church facility at 1800 West Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas.
