Life Enrichment Aide

40 hours bi-weekly.  Shift is Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 10am-4pm with occasional weekend or holiday hours.  This position has the ability to flex hours around special events or outings planned for tenants.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: Under general supervision, carries out the tenant activity programs. Provides activity ideas, programs, documentation and direct supervision to tenants to meet the physical, mental and psychosocial well being of each tenant through individual and group programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Contributes program ideas to enhance the effective administration of a quality tenant activity program.

2. Carries out tenant individual and group activity programs. Performs duties related to the preparation, clean-up and delivery of tenant activity programs.

3. Promotes self-esteem and social interaction with tenants and encourages participation and involvement of all tenants in activity programs.

4. Assists in transport of tenants to and from activity programs.

5. Encourages and accompanies tenants on community outings. Assists with needs of tenants while on community outings.

6. Maintains food/drink inventories for activity programs.

7. Produces and distributes monthly activity calendar

8. Completes all documentation required of the position accurately and timely.

9. Supports the community orientation of the department by effectively and respectfully interacting with volunteers; promotes good public relations with volunteers.

10. Provides direction and supervision of volunteers in a variety of tenant activity programs. Assists in Villa volunteer orientation and training.

11. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships and communication. Promotes harmony and good will with tenants, family members, visitors, volunteers and staff.

12. Utilizes appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication to provide a therapeutic environment for tenants.

13. Functions as a tenant advocate to provide quality of life for tenants.
