Current opening: , 28 hours biweekly. 1 day a week 7am-1:30pm, and every other weekend 10am-6:30pm. Requires every other holiday and every other weekend, with options to pick up additional hours and cross train in multiple kitchens.
Job Description:
Reviews menus, communication board and production sheets to determine types and quantities of foods to be prepared.
Prepares food according to standardized recipes ensuring quality, quantity, texture and proper temperatures to meet organizational and regulatory standards.
Tastes food during prep; makes revisions as needed and submits menu revisions to Director of Nutrition Services.
Provides appropriate foods per prescribed diet and makes appropriate substitutions when necessary.
Coordinates the timely preparation of food items with the serving schedule.
Proportions food according to established menu extensions.
Assumes supervision over Nutrition Services staff and operations in the absence of the Director of Nutrition Services and team leaders.
Assists with orderliness and cleanliness of refrigerators, freezers, storerooms and work areas.
Performs routine cleaning tasks as directed to meet sanitation standards.
Checks in food and chemical orders in the absence of Director of Nutrition Services and Nutrition Services Coordinator.
Instructs Nutrition Services staff on the proper operation and care of the kitchen equipment.
Participates in audits as directed.
Adheres to departmental dress code and practices acceptable personal hygiene.
Follows appropriate chain of command and does not contribute to unproductive actions. Complies with departmental and organizational policies and procedures and acts in accordance with St. Paul Elder Services, Inc.’s Corporate Integrity Program.
Notifies appropriate personnel of defective equipment and any repairs or supplies needed.
Maintains confidentiality of position per HIPAA security and privacy regulations.
Participates in departmental meetings and in-service training as directed.
Salary : $16 - $20
