Job Description

The Department of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science (MSCS) at St. Olaf College invites applications for a full-time, one-year position in Computer Science at the level of Visiting Instructor or Assistant Professor, to begin August 2026. This position has the potential for additional years of reappointment.

Responsibilities include teaching a variety of undergraduate computer science courses and participating in the life of the Computer Science Program, the MSCS Department, and college as a whole. The normal teaching load is six courses per year.

Salary: $60,000 - $65,000

Qualifications

A Ph.D. in computer science, or a closely related field, is strongly preferred by the date of appointment.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. In addition, candidates relying on an OPT Visa with a STEM extension are not eligible for hire.

Our Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science (MSCS) Department includes thriving programs in mathematics, statistics and data science, computer science, mathematical biology, and mathematics education. While maintaining disciplinary rigor, we promote interactions and synergy among MSCS programs and across the college.
