Position Title: TRIO Upward Bound Bridge Student Teaching Assistant
Department: TRIO Upward Bound.
Classification: Exempt.
Length of Position: June 15, 2026 - July 24, 2026.
Work Location: On campus.
Hourly Rate: $13.
Position Overview
Upward Bound hosts approximately 25 recent high school graduates on campus each summer for an annual six-week academic residential summer program. Students live in a residence hall from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon, returning home every weekend. Bridge assistants a ttend the Bridge course with UB students and assist the Bridge Coordinator and St. Olaf faculty in delivering course materials and supporting understanding. Assist staff and co-teach supplemental courses to support the UB Summer Bridge program, and coordinate and facilitate weekly study hall sessions.

- Ensure students/staff are following all St. Olaf and UB rules and guidelines
- Attend staff meetings and complete other duties as assigned
- Currently enrolled in college or recent grad
- Ability to establish good rapport with students and UB staff Experience with and ability to relate with others (high school students)
- Sensitive to target student population and committed to program objectives and goals
- Strong background in subject areas
- Excellent study habits and tutoring experience
- Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks, reference checks, verification of work history, verification of any required academic credentials, licenses, and/or certifications, a motor vehicle check, verification of DOT certification, a credit check, employment eligibility verification, and/or a pre-employment physical. Whether a background check is deemed successfully completed will be at the sole discretion of St. Olaf College.
