The Environmental Studies Office Assistant provides administrative support to faculty and staff in the Environmental Studies department. This role is responsible for a range of tasks, including general office duties, scanning, photocopying, and running errands.
Main Responsibilities:
• General office duties, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining a tidy workspace.
• Scanning and photocopying documents as needed.
• Running errands on behalf of faculty and staff, such as picking up supplies or dropping off packages.
• Assisting faculty with various projects, including research, presentations, and publications.
• Designing posters, flyers, and other visual materials to promote Environmental Studies events and initiatives.
• Updating bulletin boards, social media, and the department website to keep stakeholders informed about upcoming events and deadlines.
• Creating student and/or faculty surveys to gather feedback and improve departmental services.
Desirable Skills:
• Ability to perform general office duties efficiently and effectively.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Environment:
This role is based on campus at St. Olaf College, with regular interactions with faculty, staff, and students.
