JOB REQUIREMENTS: St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally ranked,
private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a Payroll
Specialist. This position is responsible for managing the college\'s
payroll function, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time,
and that payroll processes comply with applicable government
regulations. This is an on-site position requiring regular attendance on
campus. Specific responsibilities: - Manage the college\'s payroll
processing and reporting functions, ensuring payroll is accurate,
timely, and processed in accordance with established guidelines and
applicable regulations. - Calculate and verify wages, tax withholdings,
garnishments, deductions, and other payroll-related payments. Ensure the
accurate and timely processing of direct deposit files and benefit
vendor payments. - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local
payroll and tax requirements, including quarterly and annual tax
filings, unemployment reporting, and W-2 processing. - Perform Workday
administrative functions related to payroll, including security
maintenance, business process and tenant configuration, data loads,
integrations, and system upgrades. - Serve as a subject matter expert
for payroll and Workday issues, researching, troubleshooting, and
resolving integration and production issues while considering
cross-functional impacts and implementing effective, long-term
solutions. - Respond to employee and external inquiries regarding
payroll, taxes, garnishments, deductions, and other pay-related matters,
providing accurate information and guidance. - Conduct annual payroll
audits and prepare required reports, including workers\' compensation
audit documentation and census information for the actuarial valuation
of post-retirement benefits. - Review and improve payroll processes and
procedures to identify inefficiencies, reduce manual processes, minimize
errors, and implement best practices and solutions in collaboration with
Human Resources and other campus partners. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE
AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor\'s
degree and 35 years of payroll experience, with 67 years of experience
in finance or a process-controlled environment. - Experience with
Workday HCM and Payroll preferred; knowledge of payroll tax regulations
and process controls required. - Strong organizational, analytical, and
problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities,
meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision. -
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to
work professionally with coworkers and customers and handle complex or
sensitive situations. - Strong computer skills, including proficiency
with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and the ability to learn new
technologies and systems. - Sound judgment and decision-making skills,
with the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively. -
Experience managing departmental budgets and coordinating projects,
