School Event Security OfficerSchool Event Security Officer (Part-Time)Location: Rockford, ILPay: $17.00 per hourJob Type: Part-time | In-PersonExpected Hours: 4–30 per weekSchedule: Monday–Saturday (hours vary based on events)About the PositionWe are seeking professional and dependable School Event Security Officers to support a safe and welcoming environment at school-related events throughout the city of Rockford. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in maintaining safety, providing customer service, and assisting school staff and event attendees with professionalism and attentiveness.You will play a critical role in helping maintain order, prevent incidents, and uphold school policies during extracurricular activities, athletic events, special ceremonies, and after-hours functions.This position requires availability after 3 PM on weekdays and open availability on weekends.Key ResponsibilitiesSecurity & Safety:Monitor and secure school grounds during scheduled events.Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized activities or unsafe behavior.Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, both indoors and outdoors.Assist with crowd management during high-attendance events.Perform security screenings using weapons detection technology, handheld wands, and metal detectors.Access Control & Policy Enforcement:Assist with the check-in/check-out of visitors, vendors, and event attendees.Enforce school policies and event rules in a calm and professional manner.Prevent unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.Incident Response:Respond promptly to conflicts, disturbances, or safety concerns.De-escalate situations using trained communication techniques.Notify appropriate school personnel—such as the Principal or Supervisor—of any incidents, emergencies, or policy violations.Document and report findings accurately and timely.RequirementsMust have a valid PERC card.Completion of 20 hours of basic security training (per IL state standards).High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum 21 years of age.Proven experience in school security or related security roles.Ability to pass a drug screening and background check.Reliable transportation to and from work sites.Ability to use computers, radios, and digital reporting tools.Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying weather conditions during outdoor events.Schedule & AvailabilityMust be available after 3 PM on weekdays.Must have open weekend availability for events.Shifts typically range 4–6 hours, depending on event needs.Hours may vary weekly depending on the school schedule and special events.IL #122-001049 IL #123.000460
