Unarmed Security Officer
Location: Farmington Hills, MI
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 8am-4pm
Pay: $18.45 per hour
About the Role:
We are seeking a dependable and professional Unarmed Security Officer to support the safety and security operations at a corporate headquarters. The ideal candidate will uphold the highest standards of professionalism while ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and contractors. This position involves regular patrols, use of security technology, and close collaboration with site management to maintain a strong, visible security presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular patrols throughout the facility and surrounding areas
- Enforce access control procedures and verify identification at entry points
- Utilize security technology, including surveillance systems, access control software, and incident reporting tools
- Observe, detect, and report suspicious activities, safety hazards, or policy violations
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, and incidents
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs, reports, and incident documentation
- Provide courteous, professional customer service to employees and visitors
- Assist with safety procedures, drills, and emergency coordination
- Collaborate with management, facilities personnel, and emergency responders as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred
- Familiarity with modern security technology (e.g., CCTV systems, electronic access control, mobile reporting tools)
- Excellent communication, observation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong sense of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and conduct patrols for extended periods
- Capable of responding quickly and effectively in emergency situations
