Floater Security Officer

Location: New York, NY - Manhattan

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Schedule: Must have open availability – all shifts and days required

Position Overview

We are seeking professional and dependable Floater Security Officers to support multiple public-facing sites throughout the Manhattan area of New York, NY.

This role requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to maintain a strong security presence while providing excellent customer service.

The Floater Security Officer will be assigned to various locations as needed to support staffing coverage, respond to operational needs, and help ensure a safe and secure environment for visitors, employees, and property.

Key Responsibilities

• Detect suspicious activities and watch for criminal acts or rule infractions at or near assigned posts that may pose a threat to property, staff, or the public.
• Report all incidents, accidents, or medical emergencies promptly and accurately.
• Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fire alarms, or potential threats by following established emergency response procedures.
• Serve as a visible security presence and deterrent to criminal activity and policy violations.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and complete assigned duties, including overtime when required.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and report to work in a complete and clean assigned uniform.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to visitors and staff at all times.
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, including preparing incident reports.
• Understand and execute post orders while enforcing company and client policies, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Minimum of 1 year of security experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively for public interaction and report writing.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality.
• CPR/First Aid Certification is a plus.
• Military experience is a plus.
• Must maintain a neat and professional appearance.
• Friendly and professional demeanor with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to handle routine and crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
• Must have open and flexible availability to work various shifts and locations throughout Manhattan.
