General Summary of the Position
Supervision of Children in a classroom setting at the end of the regular school time period.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
- Provide support to the Director to ensure a safe, healthy, and stimulating educational environment.
- Plans, prepares, and develops various activities for use in the classroom which could include activity sheets, drawings, and hands-on activities.
- Leads classroom activities at the Director’s discretion.
- Assists children, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments or activities to present ore reinforce learning concepts.
- Will use disciplinary strategies as structured and implemented by the Director such as positive reinforcement, VBRD virtues, and other positive behavior management.
- Will attend pertinent After-School staff meetings throughout the year.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Will provide accountability for assigned students; including knowing and approving of student locations at all times.
- Understand and practice Safe Environment protocol at all times.
- Recognizes this position as being a role model for students; which includes appropriate business casual clothing (no graphic/concert t-shirts, no low-cut neckline shirts, no shorts) and also be aware of developmentally appropriate vocabulary.
- Other duties as assigned
- Abide by all policies as outlined in the Catholic Schools Office Handbook of Policies and Procedures for Elementary and Secondary Schools
Position Requirements
Special Requirements:
- Hours are 2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Must be Safe Environment cleared.
