About This Role
St. Michael’s is hiring a Senior Scientist - Human Research Protections Group Team Lead to support a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client. You will be in a client-facing role that will benefit from your leadership, program management experience, and expertise with the processes and systems used to support HRP efforts in DHS. Our core value of Teamwork will be paramount to this role as you will both lead and work as a contributing member to a team of HRP scientists providing support across our client’s Compliance Assurance Program Office’s (CAPO) Human Research Protections Group (HRPG).

LOCATION

Who You Are
- Active Public Trust Clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
- Hold an active “Certified IRB Professional (CIP)”
- Have a Master of Arts or Science Degree in an relevant field.
- Extensive and demonstrated human research protections experience.
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience with HRPP/IRB/REC administration and management .
- Demonstrated knowledge of various types of research portfolio oversight and management methods and systems.
- Ability to analyze extremely complex problems and recommend, monitor, and execute best practice solutions to executive level management.
- Experience with or ability to assist in the development of a regulatory framework based upon Federal, state, local and other laws, and guidelines.
- Ability to meet with and present to senior officials.
- Support the operations of the CAPO Human Research Protections Group (HRPG)
- Conduct research dealing with the understanding of human diseases and the improvement of human health. Engage in clinical investigation, research and development, or other related activities.
- Determining documentation requirements for regulatory and compliance assurance reviews.
- Managing the collection, analysis, and archiving of documentation for regulatory and compliance assurance reviews and record-keeping in a centralized database.
- Conducting systematic reviews of DHS-sponsored activities for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidelines in accordance with applicable DHS directives, instructions, procedures, and other guidance.
