Overview:
St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School is seeking an Event Coordinator to join our Advancement Office. This position will assist with the coordination and implementation of admissions and development events to further the mission of St. Michael. This is a part-time position requiring some evenings and weekends, depending on events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute events, meetings and activities related to the Advancement Office
- In collaboration with the Director of Development, oversee logistics of Grandparents Day, Guardian Stride and Guardian Golf Classic
- Serve on the Guardian Bash committee to oversee event logistics, rentals, catering agreements, venue set-up, etc.
- In collaboration with the Director of Admissions, plan and execute Open House, Middle School Nights, Jackson County Catholic Schools gatherings and Youth Group Encounter
- Serve as a liaison to the Parent Club to coordinate the New Family Picnic and Middle School Mixer
- Assist Booster Club, known as The Guard, with event logistics and planning as needed
- Coordinate alumni reunions and gatherings, including but not limited to Homecoming and the Mass of Remembrance
- Research and order promotional items and giveaways needed for events and activities
- Recruit, train and manage volunteers and students needed to support events
- Coordinate catering and set-up for meetings, as needed
- Schedule student groups to represent SMA at offsite community events and feeder schools, as requested
- Manage event-related communications and reporting
- Serve as the key staff member to brainstorm, plan and implement events related to SMA’s upcoming 10-year anniversary
- Ensure all events reflect the Catholic identity and values of our school, as well as comply with school and diocesan safety protocols
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2 years of experience in event planning and coordination preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google
- Experience working with vendors and volunteers
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events
- Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred.
