Extended Day Aides
St. Michael’s Country Day School is a non-profit, independent Toddler to 8th-grade day school in Newport, RI. The school has opened a search for Extended Day Aides. Our Extended Day Program runs from 3:00-5:30 pm each school day. The ESD program provides opportunities for students to play games, exercise, socialize with friends, and work on homework.
Aides have some flexibility as to the days and hours that they work. Candidates should have some experience working with children.

The School
Founded in 1938, SMCDS is an independent day school of 250 students serving children from toddler through grade eight, with class sizes ranging from around 10-16 students. The Location
The school’s well-appointed 7-acre campus overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is situated in historic Newport, Rhode Island, minutes from some of the most impressive beaches and coastal landscapes that New England has to offer. Newport and the beaches of Aquidneck Island are destination locations and teachers have the opportunity to integrate the geographic and cultural surroundings into their curricular programming. There are numerous universities and colleges close by, including, Salve Regina, University of Rhode Island, Brown, Rhode Island School of Design, Providence College and Roger Williams, adding to the cultural and intellectual climate of the area. Providence is a short drive (35 minutes), Boston is a bit more (1 hour and 30 minutes) and New York City (4 hours) is close enough for a weekend trip. This is a highly desirable place to live and work.
