We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs more than 750 employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district is comprised of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.

Position Overview & Responsibilities

This position presents a unique opportunity to support a student with a visual impairment in the Marching Band. The primary supports provided include marching with the student, learning the steps, and providing the student with audio or physical cues to guide participation in the activity. This job requires a measure of physical endurance to participate and it is recommended that the person filling this position be physically fit and enjoy being outdoors. It is the expectation of this position to participate in required summer camps, required practices, and required local parade schedules (which include some evenings and weekends). This is an opportunity to support students with disabilities. Responsible for working with students with disabilities in meeting the behavioral and physical needs in individual or small group settings under the direction of the adapted sports coach; maintain confidentiality of student and family information as required under FERPA. Salary & Benefits

Starting Rate: $20.64-$21.12 per hour

No benefit eligibility, other than Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST) as provided by law.

Requirements & Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two years of post-secondary education or successful completion of a valid and reliable formal assessment as identified by the school district or State; ability to work with staff to provide services to students in skill deficient areas.
