We are a district that serves over 6,500 students and employs over 800 employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district is comprised of one primary school for preschool and kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.
Position Overview & Responsibilities
Responsible for identifying, removing, and remediating health-related barriers to learning and to ensure the health and safety of students and staff. Serves as a liaison between school, parents/guardians, and community in health-related matters. Work is performed under the on-site day-to-day supervision of the building principal with direction, policy, and task assignments provided by the director of special services. For more information, please see the job description for this position. This is a district-wide position and may be assigned anywhere, but is mainly assigned to the two middle school buildings.
Dates: September 10 - October 23, 2026 (includes two days of shadowing/training)(dates subject to change based on final leave dates approved)
FTE: 1.0
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and all requirements of the MN Professional Education Licensing and Standards Board licensure as a school nurse (LSN).
Salary & Benefits
Wages: Long-Term Substitute Certified Staff Rate with appropriate Certification from PELSB: $259.63/day. Position is salaried and exempt, but total salary will depend on finalized length of assignment.
Benefits: Available but without district contribution for fully certified teacher if contract days are less than 30; fully certified teachers with assignments longer than 30 days are entitled to District Contribution at the Full-time (1.0 FTE) benefit level.
