JOB SUMMARY
The Supervisor, Patient Access Registration is responsible for the management and oversight of the Patient Access and Emergency Department Registration activities. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center patient accounts are processed in an efficient and timely manner. The position works in a cooperative team environment to provide value to customers (internal or external). The Supervisor, Patient Access Registration position reports directly to the Director of PFS and will have strong working relationships with Operational and Revenue Cycle Management departments, which include, but are not limited to; Patient Representative Services and HIMS. Additionally, the Supervisor may work with the Managed Care department, clinical departments, general finance, and outsource vendors. This position requires hands-on responsibilities while working collaboratively with their respective personnel.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- A high-school diploma or GED required
EXPERIENCE
- 5 or more years in a supervisory role required
OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
- Experience in a medical setting preferred, but not mandatory
- Working knowledge of office practice and procedures is a plus
- Excellent administrative, management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate professionally with employees, administrators, to develop and maintain positive working relationships
- Effective use of telephone skills
