Weekly Hours
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with hospital and nursing policies, the Nurse Extern supports patient care by performing routine clinical tasks aligned with their level of training and experience.

Weekly Hours
- 12 hours/week is ideal. Flexible scheduling and hours
- Float experience across multiple units:
- Medical-Surgical
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Emergency Room (ER)
- Pediatrics
- Mother/Baby
- For students entering the final year of their nursing program
- Unit-based placements in:
- Med-Surg
- ICU
- ER
- Women’s and Children’s units
- Externs may shadow an RN and perform skills under supervision
